Communication/Unit Captain Committee Report
    Communication/Unit Captain Report - June 2008

The hard work of the transition committee, the first HOA Homeowner Board, and now the second HOA Homeowner Board has paid off. At the June 4 Board meeting a resolution to accept the Transition Agreement was passed.

The Oakwood Clubhouse will be closed July 5 to July 27 for necessary kitchen repairs. During this time the Air Walls (movable room dividers) in the Ballroom will be refaced. While the Clubhouse is closed, the Poolside Café will be open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The hours of operation and menus will be posted on our website.

There have been many positive comments about the new signage at the gates and at the entrance to the Oakwood Clubhouse. A great deal of thanks goes to Jon Lang, owner of Resource Solutions, Inc and to the Image Committee for their continuous contributions to this project.

It is of the utmost importance to maintain a continual flow of proper information within our community. The community website, www.ironoakconnection.org, the Weekly Newsletter sent to the HOA 3 e-mail list, the computers at each clubhouse, flyers at the clubhouses and the gate entrances, attending scheduled Board meetings, and the Unit Captain Committee are venues of information. If you would like to become more involved with your community, I am looking for interested and concerned homeowners to join the 90 plus members of this committee. Please contact ucchair@wbhsi.net.

Our community has entered into an exclusive contract with Sun Lakes Disposal in which they will collect recyclables and the regular trash. The information can be found on our website at http://ironoakconnection.org/id959.htm and  http://ironoakconnection.org/id791.htm .

Please note: It was previously reported by the Board that the North Dobson Gate usage would for “Residents Only”. This decision has now been rescinded, and the gate usage will revert back to what it was. The following is the explanation from Ken Flynn:

After careful consideration and discussion with our Association's Attorney it has become apparent that the decision to shut down the North Dobson Sentex box would constitute a change of use as describe in our CC&R's under Article 12 section 4.

THE SENTEX BOX WILL CONTINUE TO BE AVAIALBE FOR USE, WE WILL NOT SHUT IT DOWN AS PREVIOUSLY STATED ON THE IRONOAK SITE.

We will finish doing the concrete work but will leave the resident and visitor entrance lanes and barrier arms as they were. This issue will be placed on the agenda for discussion at the next official Board of Directors meeting.

Thanks to the staff and the many volunteers who put in countless hours to “Help Make a Difference” and make this a great place to call home.

Corkey Gross, Chairman
Communication/Unit Captain Committee
